In order to comply with the strict HACCP regulations it is necessary for G&C to know exactly where each case of product is within our distribution network and facility at any given time, from the moment the product comes in our door until it reaches your door. To do this we affix a custom bar code sticker to each and every case, allowing us to track where and when each case shipped, down to the specific order, delivered to a specific customer, at a specific time on a specific day. With this kind of tracking if we ever need to retrieve any product for whatever reason (quality, safety recalls, special picks) we know exactly where to find each and every case of product in question. Food safety and integrity is insured.
HACCP is an effective process and means to assure food safety throughout the food supply chain, from harvest to the consumer's table. The HACCP program and certification process is a volunteer program designed and controlled the United States Department of Agriculture and the Food and Drug Administration to address the needs for food safety and safe handling within food related industries. With G&C Foods voluntary participation in this program you are assured delivery of safe and wholesome product, under strict independent government guidelines that most distributors can not or do not meet.
Part of the HACCP program requires that storage temperatures be carefully monitored, sampled and regulated according to the products in a given area. G&C's advanced storage facility allows us to accurately regulate and control product and storage temperatures in various areas of the warehouse. With this kind of attention to detail your boxed beef will be at just the right aging temperature, while your frozen foods will be free of freezer burn. Your cheeses will be cool and your entrees frozen solid.
